The Wicklow Stories Film Festival aims to highlight local filmmaking talent, local stories, and Wicklow as a county.

The window for submissions is officially closed for 2025.

The official selection of short films will be announced soon!

Wicklow Stories Film Festival remains the only wholly independent and unfunded film festival in Ireland.

In 2022, 2023 and 2024, we showed several films, from several different genres, all made by filmmakers in various stages of their career. Baz Black’s “Reflection” was shown in its director’s cut, as well as Emmy winner Niall McKay’s “The Ferry”, which was widely celebrated as a highlight of the festival in 2022.

In 2023, we saw an early cut of David Thomas’ documentary “Journey to Pride” as well as Zeff Lawless’ hilarious comedy, “Bingo”.

"Wicklow Stories is a beautifully run film festival, highlighting the amazing talent that the county has to offer.

Our short film 'Ó LÁ GO LÁ' was selected for 2024 and everyone involved was blown away by the support and encouragement we received from everyone involved in the festival.

I would recommend any filmmaker, especially those with a Wicklow Story, to submit their film to next year's event. You're sure to be in good hands with the team behind the magic. Huge thank you to Marlena, Ronika, Gavin and all those involved in Wicklow Stories.

I can't wait to come back.

Paddy C. Courtney

Actor, Writer & Producer."

“It was such a pleasure to have my film ‘Reflection’ selected at the Wicklow Stories Film Festival. Screened in the beautiful Whale Theatre this festival is run by passionate filmmakers so communication and promotion was amazing throughout. I have had numerous screenings of my films at festivals and this was a standout for sure.”
